Malpas & District Sports Club (Cricket Section)

Malpas & District Sports Club is a multi-sport facility that has evolved from the original cricket club established in 1868. The club is situated in the picturesque South Cheshire village of Malpas and enjoys a panoramic view of the Cheshire Plain, Shropshire and the Welsh Hills

The Club is an integral and important part of the community life of Malpas and the surrounding rural areas, providing a variety of first-class sporting facilities for both the young and old. Members have the opportunity to play cricket, football, bowls and tennis on a competitive or social basis, together with indoor pursuits such as pool, snooker, darts etc.

The cricket section supports several senior teams plus junior teams. The 1st and 2nd teams play on a Saturday in the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket Leagues in Division One and the regional Division B West respectively. The Sunday team plays `friendly` fixtures against local and touring sides and these are used as the basis for the development and encouragement of young players. Mid week games are also played in the league and local knock out competitions. Malpas also holds its own limited over mid-week knock out for local teams.

New members are always welcome - so whether you are looking to begin your career, change clubs or to begin playing cricket again, please contact the club for further information or better still come down to our net practice sessions and introduce yourself.

[The Club is open all year round, seven evenings a week plus Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes holding social events at regular intervals throughout the year.]
